The yella terra kit is pricy but look at the detail they've gone too; custom intake manifold that locates the s/charger underneith the manifold while still retaining the OE upper manifold which gives a near stock look. Very stealth indeed.

A centrifical kit like the ones Capa offer require much less tooling to fit and that's why they're cheaper.

All depends that characteristics you want too. A PD blower will give instant boost at low rpm but the boost will fall off to some degree as rpm rises as well as generating alot of heat so intercooling is more important. Centrifical blowers boost increases as rpm rises giving a more linear power curve and generate less heat but don't produce much boost at low revs.

Cheers

For $9K I could have a 454 Cube LS1 that makes more power naturaly aspirated than that combo.

The Whipple blower they use is only about $3,500 to buy that means the rest of it is fairly pricey.

I reckon you would be better modifying the setup off the Lightning 5.4 to fit the Boss 5.4.

Cheers

I was about to make a similar point.

You're already getting about/almost 400hp out of a 331ci engine.
(assuming that you have the Boss290)

From that point on the $/HP gets very expensive.

Saw an article (Street Machine I think) where they'd supercharged a Boss260 with centrifical blower and few other mods for a claimed 400kW (536hp)

Personally, this would be way down my list - but then thats my list.

Darrell,
If you are after a valley mounted supercharger kit try Richwood Applied Technologies, richwoodtechnologies@bigpond.com , AJ Mueller -PH 07 5464 0503, MOB 0407 448 414. He is devoloping a low mount setup for the 5.4ltr Quad cam fords.

It may be a little pricey, but it looks beautiful compared with a front mounted supercharger. Normally you get what you pay for.

Regards.
