Greg I was hooked on a similar dark gray or Lambo titanium with ghosted stripes. I've decided for now to go with something more colourful... Indigo blue or a deep red with white stripes. Notice I did say "for now".
If you browse the photos on this forum you can get some great ideas - or you may just become more confused like I have!

Good luck with the decision.

Too many silver ones
Silver is the new white.
I'd go BRG or Monza red if I had the choice again (mmmm, I do )

I agree with Warren, Titanium is the way to go. It's the new silver.
Warren's photo gallery is like the "Zelig" of titanium Superformance Cobras. I swear there's picture of Warren's car with John F. Kennedy!

HSV 300 Greg,
I think everyone whose building a Cobra has the same problem as you presently have.
I went through so many different colour schemes. My initial choice was a red with gold stripes, then I went to the new orange Commodore colour known as Ignition Metallic, then I looked at the grey with maroon stripes as shown in the attached photo.
I really liked that, but after much thought, wanted something totally different and something that I had never seen in a Cobra colour scheme before.
I finally came up with an my final decision of Aqua Marine with additional silver/pearl metallic + the grey/silver stripes running front to rear.
Whatever choice you make, good luck as it's probably the biggest decision you will make with your build. The paint job and the interior is the first thing that will will be noticed.
In my opinion, it is the most important component of the entire build. No one knows what's under the bonnet until you let those injectors open right up.
Whether it's parked or mobile, people will just droul on your choice and presentation of the colour scheme which you yourself have selected, the quality of the quality of the upholhostery and the manner in which your car stands out from everything else.
Have a look at my 'Gallery' to see what I considered before making my final decision.
Good luck and I hope I have helped your decision.
Baz

Thanks Baz, I really like the sliver but all the Chrome parts don't show up as well as they do on darker cars. Might just put 3 colours in a hat and pull one out.

Got them from Bob at Vintage Wheels they are 17 x 8 & 17 x10.5 knock on's. They are great rims if they will fit your Cobra I had to modify both the front and rear to get them to fit.
Cheers Greg

Greg,
Myself and Juggernaut were just talking about this same topic, what color was the toughest question / decision I faced during my build. But since you are thinking a version of grey I have a suggestion I saw that looked great.
It was a dark to medium grey/titamium similar to the post by boxhead above, with either black or a dark navy blue stripes, with meatballs, and a red rookie strip over the fender. Really looked good. I get you a picture by I don't have a digital one. Maybe someone else will and post it. Good luck on your choice.

Hi Greg,
The reason its so hard to decide is............The Cobra looks great in any colour. I am about to get my car painted too. I am going with my heart and simply doing what I think will look good. I decided not to worry about what others think because they wont be driving it (unless thay ask nicely)
By the way the colour combos you have suggested sound terrible

Fred's Cobra
I saw a cobra in a paint shop. It looked like red and silver. Some of the replies said it was Fred's ERA cobra. I can't find the thread or the pic's. It is some-what, what I was looking at,,,, Wineberry with silver stripes. Can some one please point me in the right diection.

I think the wisest advice given to you on this thread is for you to go with exactly what you want...I think having a Cobra is a very personal extravagance, so I reckon, do it your way!
In saying this, I also found the colour decision difficult...I had my heart set on a deep dark blue colour....you know that deep dark blue colour that almost looks black...I went to every car manufacturer and looked at their dark blue variations and whilst I found some lovely blue colours, I could not find one I liked without the metallic flake.
In the end, I went for a pure black colour and will have the silver sidepipes/polished alloy to contrast.
Here's a photo of my car that is still in transit from Superformance from South Africa and should be arriving late this/early next month.
Regards.....Paul

Problem Solved
The sexiest "silvery" colour ive seen on any car has got to be the eleanor paint job
Its Gunmetal silver i think
Its not too dark yet not too light.. just perfect!
Its even got stripes to get an idea of the look on a cobra
