Well done Andrew how good does it feel when you hear it run for the first time. Now all you will think about is when can I drive it.

Well...Andrew started it for the first and second time yesterday.

What's the bet he started it today?, more than once too.

I'll even make a bet he let it run longer today.

My ears are ringing......better build those pipes

Ironing out a few bugs today (well one at least) - engine check light was on, but hooking up the O2's fixed that - looks like the tuner got everything he needed to. Tachs not working, but that seems a common problem (without a definative solution??) - fixed a few minor awater leaks....still grinning

Andrew, I wonder if this thread helps with your tacho problem.

we have done a fair few of the L76's and depending on the tacho you are using there have been many ways they have been fixed. Some of the ways they have been fixed is having the tuner change the output in the ECU of the tacho signal or running a tacho booster (we have 3 types and depending on the type of tacho makes the choice of which booster to run).

Reason for the booster is cause the signal coming out of the ECU is very minimal as the holden dash was designed to take such a weak signal and work with it.. Majority of after market tacho's although designed to recieve an ECU weak signal still require a booster of some sort.

You can even get boosters that run of the coil trigger wire instead of using the ECU signal.

Because of these problems it is one of our first comments to guys we supply harnesses for that they make sure that the instrument supplier is will to take back/swap the gauges if they are not suitable for these type of engines.

Anyway good luck with it and if you need any help then let us know.

Fantastic news and a great milestone in your great build. Well done on the wiring
yourself as takes lots of patience and faith.

Glad to see the whole family shared your moment (Mizzi's also)

Congrates Andrew, it is a big moment in the build process.

How many more times have you gone to the shed and started it up just to hear it?

All this "dark side" celebrating. We also have LPG. I am thinking that the day when we see diesel Cobras is not far off! Are there any out there?
