Colin,
My wife thought she would like to drive the Cobra as well. Although I have the extended chassis my wife reaches the pedals OK, but because I have the seat so low she sits very low in the car. When she drove it I was told how heavy the clutch was, how the non power assisted steering at slow speed was heavy and because being so low in the seat I was told she had trouble seeing the front of the car. She did enjoy driving was it once it was moving. Now when I ask her if she wants to drive she is tells me that she is happy to sit in the passenger seat.
I think as Merv suggests, set the seat up in a second position to see if she enjoys driving it before you put runners on it.
