Hi boxhead, if we can get to Gavins house in Mildura on time we will follow you guys through to Goulburn. Cant wait, should be a great trip. It hurts to walk because I need some surgery on my knee, but I really want to get there.

Regards.

I am coming up this year with the WASP. Doug Pearce and Don Stafford have helped with the engine that got a little hurt at Winton. I think I now have a V8 instead of a V6. My son Chris has taken over and is preparing the car for Wakefield. Even kicked me out of the drivers seat. Hoping for a good weekend for all. Happy to be an observer after all these years.

Richard

Sounds great Mando, I think we are planning on a fairly early start.

I should be at Gav's place by Monday arvo, that gives me a chance to get over the first part of the trip then dyno on Wednesday.

Just to make it a bit more interesting, looks like there will need to be a bit of last minute repairs before the trip.

Bloody oil on race tracks.....what a ride !

It's only a radiator,
Front Spoiler,
Some fiberglass,
etc. etc

and another pair of clean underdaks !

See ya there ,

Warren.

Is the green fluid and lumps from car or undies. Two weeks less travelling should still get it ready.

We were at Wakefield last Sunday, a Rexi dropped oil around the whole track, with a mixture of rain we were scating on Ice, and to make things better the Mongoose snapped an axle, only got to do 5 laps
Looks like your not the only one with last minute repairs,

Yep see you there Waz

Well there is only 4 more sleeps till my Nationals holiday begins, I have completed all jobs to the Cobra, trailer and tow vehicle.
Oh boy am I glad we had the big storm in Alice Springs yesterday, and not in a few days time.
Here are some pics (just of my car on the trailer) The trailer just fitted into the shed (8.5 foot trailer through a 9 foot shed opening).

Now I am just hoping for a dry trip over and back.

Thanks Peter G, good thing I wont be racing the trailer.

Regarding the Didg, A not too well known fact is that the didg is actually not "native" to central Australia.

Yes there are a **** load of them now made and sold in Alice but the local "tribes" never actually had them or used them until Alice became a tourist place.

So it is just another way to get money from the white trash (not my words) that visit.

Good luck with the blue slip if you're in NSW. I waited for 10 weeks before my engineer (who knows a few RTA people personally) discovered that the form was continually circulating between two in/out boxes in the RTA offices.
Have fun at the nationals.

Smithy,

It is worse than that. I have been waiting a couple of months, and have had to take more photos, measure seat anchorages etc. Even though my engine is within the three year period I have been told to do an emissions test. It is a 4 week wait for a booking at Penrith.

My engineer is doing his best to get me through, so I will just have to keep working through the questions.

It would have been nice to have rego and side pipes for the Nationals, oh well.

Ben
