Immobilisers

OK thanks. I will track down the 3 point ones around here. Can they be easily installed at home or do you need to have them installed? Just finished my wiring anyway.

i think for insurance purposes they need to be fitted by an auto elec.
check with shannons.

I've never had a problem with home fitted immobilisers with ICVs.

Also my last conversation with Shannon's is that they were not concerned about immobilisers and ICVs. It certainly doesn't change the amount of premium you pay.

when i did mine they asked for the receipt from the auto elec, that was nearly 5 yeras ago though

Yeah, I've never been asked. That's interesting. Technically with an ICV they could not force that issue, they are in essence home built cars.

They were not interested in immobilisers at all when I last contacted them 6 months ago.

But the problem with Shannon's is that you quite often get different information from different staff members.
