The LS7 sump is pretty much level with the bottom of the oil filter.

I used 2 10mm spacers (top and bottom) on mine as with one 20mm on one side you start to run out of thread. Just something to consider.

Mick,

Stiffy and I ordered Corvette LS2 oil pan kits last week and they've arrived. We ordered them with windage tray, oil pickup, dipstick + tube and short oil filters to match. You can see from the profile in the second shot that the leading edge of the gearbox is probably the lowest point now.

Cheers,
Paul

That's the one.

You can also remove the sump heater element and it makes a handy spot to put your oil temp sender.

I machined up an adaptor to fit my autometer mechanical temp sender in there.

Cheers

Awesome Mike... got any of those adapters spare? Probably depends which gauges/senders I'm getting doesn't it. At least you've confirmed my thoughts on what that plastic thingy was for.

Do you see any need for more frequent oil changes with such a small oil filter?

You will probably find you will be changing the oil more regularly than your daily driver just because of what the car is. Before a thrash on the track at the nationals or at Shelbyfest you'll probably be putting fresh oil in as part of your prep.

That being said, I'm putting together a remote filter setup at the moment that takes a Z9 but that is mainly because of plumbing in an oil cooler.

Cheers
