Thanks Merv - just hold the button down and hopefully get a couple of good ones. Marshalling area.

Weather was good today - very hot and a little windy. Forcasting showers tomorrow and I can feel the change coming through now. Fingers crossed its not too bad.

Looks like terrific weather for it and more than a few foolish grins to be had. Have a fantastic weekend guys. Hopefully I'll make the "virgin" list next year.

Sambo

PS. Boxhead - I love the Darkside touch.

I noticed that several of the cars seem to be painted in a low luster paint or flat colors if you will. Is that a popular option these days in Australia? I like the chambray yellow and teal green looks especially well.

Well spotted Clois - its a new pain technique called "tinted primer" . Most these new guy's cars are incomplete - temp paint jobs just for the time being. Gav (green) and boxheads (yellow) cars in particular have come up great.

Tell me about this "B-Club"

Is it true they are the rejects from the Jenny Craig netball team?

Only one Daytona Ive seen so far - Stiffy.
Lots more GT40s this year though.

The B-club...well Les, I could tell you but then Id have to kill you. Lets say it could involve a secret handshake.....sacrificial alters.....full moons and virgins (although we cant find any of those in Goulburn).

Few more pics:

Not sure when Churchy swapped over his b-Club plate for this pic (I am a dead man):

This thing is fast....I timed a few laps at 1:03 in practice:

rain rain go away.....

Peter G finally gets to drive a vehicle that at least looks a little like a real cobra:

Stiffy said it was "awesome" - at least I THINK he was talking about the engine.
Darren (The green one with the "cobra" sidepie covers) who had a LS1 last year now has a L76 and cam reckons its a completely different car - fewer gear changes etc.

Tomorrow will be a big day to see how everyone compares as there really hasnt been any official timed events yet. Weather is forcast to clear - so we shall see how it goes.

Cheers

Now we know why Cobras have wipers and demisters!

Wish I was there - next year. Keep up the fabulous photos. They are very professional.

Default Day 3

As mentioned, the weather came good for day 3, and blessed the gang with a dry day - and a fun time was had by all. A few more pics:

Phil "El presidente" Mizzi looking out over all he had done, and was happy with what he saw. (Seriously top effort fromthe Mizz - a nicer bloke you will never meet and the work he and the nationals team did was just awesome under sometimes trying conditions)

"Hey mate - Ive had 6 people today ask me if mine was an original - how many YOU had?"....

The Stig in his office:

"Must....go...faster...then....the...missus... ..":
