Default hornets nest 5

i respect everyones opinion and choice about which engine they choose to fit under the bonnet, im a bit of a purist and think that a cobra shoud have a ford engine, especially a tough one, thats the way they came, but to each his own. tomcat

It's a bit much to call it pure when the Cobra never cam fitted with a 351 Windsor based motor. The only pure motor for your body shape is a 427 or 428 Ford FE motor. The 351 Windsor bears about as much relation in design to that motor as my LS1 does. The only thing common between to two is the name on the rocker covers.

We all respect your choice too but this whole Ford Vs Chev argument is getting a bit lame.

I know at my first track outing at Shelbyfest there was more than half the field behind my tock LS1 but there were still plenty of Fords and a few chevs in front of me.

It's probably no really fare to compare the HSV boys with yourself at the drags. Stick 600-700KG in your passengers seat and you would probably be on par for power to weight.

Cheers

Hopefully at next years Shelbyfest there will be a few less of both in front of me.

Default just f & c

no one has even mentioned the L word . or is it just an accepted fact that they are the best bang for buck going.
all alloy 4 cams 4 valves per cyl 6 bolt mains huge oil system
and cheap. though i must admit to fully rebuild one is not any cheaper than a chev or ford .
but that defeats the the whole idea of a cheap race engine.
if it blows it goes and in goes a new one.

oz.
