Thanks Guys
Merv - What have you used around the edge of the aluminium sheet. I'm assuming it's aluminium and is the rest is heat shield.

Lionel - I like the colour of your car. What have you used to cover this area.

Thanks Bob

Bob that was just a heat proof rubber edging - later replaced by an aluminum edging. Yes the heat shield was that really good stuff that I got from melbourne. The car is very cool inside the footwell.

Hi Wodnas, a couple of pictures of my engine bay painted silver.
You should check out Tenroccas gallery, Its one of the best Ive ever seen. He has done an incredible job of cladding his engine bay and boot in aluminium sheeting. Its fantastic!

Regards.

Mando, I agree with Fuzzy! Very nice!
My car is scratch built. I built a steel space frame, used C5 suspension, diff, ect. I converted the Diff to accept a driveshaft and bolted into the structual trans tunnel. I welded an aluminum cradle that attaches to the frame and supports the body. Since this picture I have put on a longer throttle cable which is hidden and moved the air cleaner out of sight and into a high pressure area. I molded the engine cover for the LS6 Vette motor.

Mando,
I never get tired of the Morrison Injection.

The offer is still there if you want to swap

Mando - Thanks for the kind words (which mean a lot coming from you), however mine is definately not show job. I reckon any kind of aluminium of stainless sheeting in the engine bay looks good, plus if I ever get sick of beige then I dont have to repaint the engine bay.

From that photo, it would appear they are caps and cut off the air intakes, but they are "booties" and have become pretty popular with people running Webers on the street. They have been used for a while by street rod builders and they are popping up more and more on Cobras. The engine runs great, no issues with the Webers gagging because of reduced air.
