Default Shelby Fest 4 Spectators ???

Hi Guys,

Considering driving my Kirkham upto Winton next saturday morning for the day.
Is it a spectators event? And how many cars usually get together?
Thanks...

Default Spectators are most welcome

Soulman,

You are very welcome to come up to shelbyfest. We would love to see the Kirkham up there as well as any other Cobra enthusiasts. It is free entry to the track, gates open at 8:00am.

AC302 (Jeremy) has organised to run a group up to Winton on Saturday. The meeting place is:

Shell service station on the cnr of Porter St and Fitzsimons Lane in Templestowe (Melways 33 F3) at about 7.00am and go through the hills getting to Winton by about 9.30am.

Cheers

TC

Know it is a little late but maybe we need to promote the event to prospective members and spectators.

The auto related sponsors would expect some exposure to potential customers..

See you there

The organisers have it under control Bernie.
It's in the next issue of what's on wheels and the sun motoring events.

Give me a call or PM if you wish to discuss promoting the event.
At this stage we encourage Cobra and Shelby enthusiasts along to both spectate and view the cars in the pits and talk to the owners.
That's what this event is all about.

We do not want to open the gates to 100's people and have to close the pits off and make it less social.

I think at the moment we have a very good balance and a friendly open fell to the whole event.

No problem how could I doubt that you would not have it in/under control.

if you need assistance with promoting the event I'm ready to assist as needed

For anyone interested, as Tony said earlier in this thread, I am planing to go up for the day on Saturday leaving from the Shell service station on the cnr of Porter St and Fitzsimons Lane in Templestowe (Melways 33 F3) at about 7.00am. Go across the Chrismas hills to Yarra Glen, then to Yae, Bonnydoon and out on to the Highway at just before Benalla. Should get us to Winton about 9.30pm.
It's a fun drive and would be good to have a few car going togaether.
There are already a couple of cars who are joining me, as usual, the more the marrier.

Hey guys, I have been following this forum for quite some time and was looking at driving down to check out the event and have a few questions.
Does this tend to be a family thing or more of a blokey thing - not sure whether to bring the missus (and kids) along?
How many cars normally enter?

Thanks.

Kimbo,
If your just coming down for the Saturday at Winton, I would call it a blokey thing. If your doing the whole weekend, ladies and kids are most welcome. I'll have Judy and the kids all weekend. Great pool at the Gateway for the kids, they love the motorkana and the lunch in the park.
Should have about 50 cobras there on the day at Winton.

Sounds great, we were actually looking at staying for the weekend - a bit too far to drive down and back in a day.
I take it somewhere in Wangarratta is the place to stay.

Thanks,
Kim

Kim,

Welcome to the forum.

Just to jump in here in case Jason is busy....

The Gateway Motel, Wangarratta ( just up from that 5 Star restaurant that sells Happy meals.. )

All social, story telling, meetings and moderate drinking take place at the Gateway Motel. Rooms may still be available..
