**** i just read thru it

anyway im not trying to say its a very hard job
it ****ds me when people say its just 4 wires to wire up an ls1
to do it properly u need 4 or 5 relays especially if u have 2 thermos
each relay has 4 or 5 wires and then u need fuses
like on the lexus forums people say its just 7 wires to get engine runnig
well why the hell does it take me 8 hours to wire up 7 wires
i to can charge 100 bucks and get these 4 or 7 wires run them directly to battery and i can say hey i have wire up my 1uz or my ls1 and it took me 1 hour
i have to give warranty so that means a proper job
ive seen afew home jobs on other cars and even cobras from this site and i would never allow my work to look lik ethat

anyway a rough guide is 5 to 6 days to wire up everything nice and neat and with relays
if i get a full day job at work its around 700 bucks
but if i work 5 or 6 days on a car i charge 500 to 550 a day

last few cobras ive done have ranged around 2500 to 3000 depending on parts and what was needed which for 5 to 6 days for a sole person isnt too bad

say u add 2000 in parts like that other guy did its still way cheaper
but i try to not buy the extra parts i let the customer do it as i frucking hate alarms
they are the devil to me especially if they are wired up by the asians who drive round and twist wires together and take 20 minutes to fit them any alarm fitted that way i instantly rip it out and tell customer to fix it properly

i also know alot of your common every day auto elects that do yr basic stuff
they are abit more expensive due to they love doing the bread and butter stuff
like alternastors and starters thats where they make money
so when they get a full rewire they pump price upa fair bit cause they dont like doing them

last week i rewired an ek ute on lpg from dash forward
took about 3 to 4 days

at the end of the day if i get a good night sleep and maybe abit in the morning
so i wake up feeling good i can goto work and get stuck into a job
within 2 days i can have 80 % of the wiring run and wired
then u spend 2 or 3 days doing the fidly bits
and if anyone has done their own wiring they will understand the fiddly bits just go on and on
u look at it then u go hey im nearly done then u see oh i have to do this little bit then that little bit then u realsie 2 days later the fiddly bits are done

i guess it all comes down to how experienced the person is to get the job done fast

another thing is if i do a job over afew weeks then i dont charge extra

some guys the longer the car is at workshop then the higher the bill goes
i hate having cars at shop for longer than 3 weeks cause if u dont get good turnove rof cars u are loosing money

so beware those out there and ask many questins if u are going to get someone to do work on yr cars
