Default Alternator brackets revisited

Has anyone come up with a good alternator setup? I was using the March 30025, and may go with it again, but am looking for something a little more bolt on. I have the March 30055 which hangs the alternator low, but I seem to remember this being a problem when I tried it before.

I had a real problem with mine. I looked all over for a bracket that would fit. I wanted chrome. I finally ended up with simple chrome bracket from a local speed shop. It was a little long so I notched the underside of the hood slightly, leaving room for movement of the engine under torque, and reinforced the hood on the inside of the notch with fiberglass. I didn’t want to grind the bracket because it was plated.

I had to move the alternator to the top of the engine on the passenger side because it was hitting the frame when mounted low and I didn’t have enough room to tension the belt.

I used a summit SME-2002 braket and it worked great. I had to shorten the standoffs slightly because of my waterpump pully and mount the adj arm to the front to clear the water neck but it looks like it's made to go that way. (even though it's not)
