Default air cleaner

I have ordered a 347 stroker and wanted to look for an air cleaner to go with it. There are a million of them out there and I was just wondering if there are hight/size restrictions that I should look out for. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Corey C

Corey, I tell ya, Wait till you have the engine in it or a mock up. The aircleaner needs to fit and work. I just mocked up my Hi riser tunnel wedge 427 with 2x4 to make sure it was going to fit. I didnt want to have to use a larger scoop than the original. I think mine are going to work but I'll have to use those small Stellings units and may even have to reverse the bottom plate on the rear one, I'll see when I get a set of those if they will fit, You probably wont have any problems with a small block but Id make sure before I set my watch by it. Try calling your kit mfg and see what they say will fit. Michael

i have had many problems finding any air cleaner to fit.figure out what intake manifold and carb you want and before you buy ask c/c members with a bandb if it will work. I have an edelbrock fuel injection, air gap manifold, 351.the only air cleaner that would work is the edelbrock pro flo tri anglular one.i still had to trim a half inch off the base plate.i had only 3.23" of clearance total height , also some sensors ,throtle linkage and only 9 1/2" of width. when you buy make sure you can return it !!!!!!!! good luck.Peter

Corey

We have been working on several different cars of different manufacture and engine choice--they are ALL different---
However--the 1 1/4 inch drop base K & N 14 inch base seems to work on several cars with small blocks(302-351) based engine packages with Edelbrock air gap manifold and small distributor cap---a large cap on the small block will be tight with the drop base/14 inch cleaner

It would help for you to post the make of car /engine choice / location when you ask for info on clearance/will it fit items
