What brand of lift did you get, and why?
I'v been shopping for a lift, and will probably buy one in the next 1-2 months. I found this site, that was pretty good for comparing technical specs of various brands: Car Lifts - Best Buy Automotive Equipment
I also looked at Excel Equipment: Excel Equipment, LLC - 4-Post Lifts - Automotive Lifts - Automotive , and Rad Lifts: Purchase A Made In The USA Car Lift From RadLiftsByGemini.com - Car Lifts, Auto Lifts, Motorcycle Lifts and other Garage Accessories
Back Yard Buddy seems to be popular. And they also have this really slick crane/hoist that mounts to the top of the lift. Crane Accessory for Backyard Buddy Lifts But they want about $4,500 for the lift, and $2,700 for the crane! Yikes! And I think other lifts might be better built for half the money.
My current front runner is a Danmar Commander: Dannmar Commander 7000 (formerly D-7) Four Post Car Lift 7,000 lb.
I'm also keeping a close eye on Craig's List.
