You are correct Mark, after seeing your email I emailed Reg Dodd for a clarification on the 17" wheel fitment issue. Turns out there were two types of 17's, if you have the American Racing version you must change the hub/spindle. If you do NOT have the American Racing version you do not have to change the hub/spindle.

The difference in the fit meant is that the American racing wheels use the same peg drive front and rear while the BDR wheels have a different peg drive front and rear. The difference is the depth of the shoulder on the peg drive. The BDR wheel has a long shoulder on the front and short on the rear. The American Racing uses a short in the front and rear.
All BDR wheels and all American Racing wheels are the same in 15,17,18. If you had a set of each , you would need to switch the front peg drives when switching wheels.
