My car # 260 had oil in the bottom of the tube? not sure why...but it was not from a leaking strut!

Are you sure it's the strut leaking the oil?

there are two sizes or styles of front struts. Posted on the backdraftboys site many years ago...I think the site is down and my memory is gone... so don't remember. I also added a special bushing to keep the strut centered when re-assembling.

I found oil in mine also. Thought it was a leaking strut. Turns out they pore oil in the strut housing about 1/3rd up cartridge for heat transfer. Yes, old site had info on replacement part numbers. My replacement cartridge I got from bdr was different than the factory cartridge. But it came with a spacer that took up any size difference issues. I am on travel. When I get home I will see if I wrote down the pn.
