Unless it has traction control.
500hp+ is certainly enough.

It is dependent on the tire, and more importantly how you apply the throttle. It is 100 percent streetable, I am sure, if you don't hammer the gas pedal at every single stop. You don't need to hold the pedal to the floor to go anywhere, unless you drive a Nissan leaf. And there is only one Nissan leaf driver in this thread that I am aware of. Are you number two?

A friend of mine traded his BMW M6 for a Prius lately. I have since stopped talking to him for a while...

I don't intend on ever owning a Nissan Leaf.
I've owned 400hp cars, I've owned a 270kph Superkart, have driven 600hp cars, mechanic for over 30 years. You cannot own AND drive something like that 800 hp Cobra in Australia. Period.
Good luck to those who think they can.

YOU can not, and why not specifically in Australia? I daily drove a 700rwhp car with zero issues for 3 years here in the US, including in the snow.
So for those of us that can and do, thanks for wishing us....luck. Really, it is not needed. A little bit of common sense is all that is necessary.
I bet Jays 800rwhp backdraft has better street manners than most 400hp Cobras do. Does that chap your ass or what?

What are the details of the engine or is there another thread that covers it?

It's a Ford Racing Aluminator NA Crate Engine with a VMP Stage 3 Gen2 supercharger kit running a little over 16psi boost. Using E85 to run it for the enhanced cooling effect. Tuning was done in house with Lund Racing making remote adjustments.

Love that Coyote motor! Now I just need to find my '61 Starliner and buy it back. Then I will be seeking advice from you Cashburn.

All this garbage started from this statement in post 10.
I have aired my views on legalities.
What others do and get away with is entirely up to them.
End of discussion.

I don't understand why every thread has to turn into a peeing match between 2-3 guys. It gets old pretty quick.

Yup. Fully agree!
Constructive criticism is fine, but then move on back to a constructive discussion. When the P_ssing match starts, I just lose interest. It's not what we are all here for IMHO.

If the discussion stays on the original topic, a great BDR with almost 800HP or we debate the legalities of Cobras and Australian laws, then I'm good.
If someone wants to start the "holier than thou, safety of friends and family is #1" nonsense, then I'm calling BS. In the final analysis, most folks come up WAY short and shouldn't be opening their mouth. It's as simple as that.
Actually, what we really need is another engine build thread with gratuitous rod bearing and intake manifold bolt pictures. Or possibly a pic of a distributor hold down bracket could really cool.

Well, as a vender, I know how frustrating it can be when you post something that you feel is really awesome and cool....then a couple guys go full PMS and detract from the coolness of the thread.....just sayin'.
And to help inject a little more humor back in the post....here you go Rod.

I guess I'll ask again. What legalities where you live make a completely street able (and reliable) car not legal because of its horsepower?
That near 800rwhp coyote powered backdraft is more than likely more street able than the majority of Cobras with half the power on this site (including my car).
