Yes. A good way to check your pan capacity is to fill to the bottom of the windage tray (keep track of how many quarts) as this still clears the crank. Don't forget that you will have oil in the engine and filter which lowers that level when running. Never had any blow-by problems, even at high RPM.

Kevco built a pan for my new windsor stroker.....a little less than 7" tall. Holds 7 qt, plus filter, plus oil cooler and lines. The guys at Savannah Race Engineering had it done for me. If you want to call Kevco, ask around about a pan for SRE, done about 5-6 months ago. I have shaved the bottom flange on my bell, and am debating on dropping the engine about 1". Total overkill, but that's what we live for.
