2 questions for the newb owner

I bought a green lens to replace my red ignition lamp. Red always makes me think bad things are happening...thought I would get used to it, didn't, so the replacement was a cheap fix.

I thought the ignition light only comes on when the battery is discharging... and that's something you would want red....
Are you saying the ignition light coming on is a good thing so you want it green?

The way mine is wired, the light comes on when the start circuit is activated. Yeah, stupid I know. So it is on when the car is. Since I am about 3/4 lazy I didn't rewire it, I just put in a green lens.
