Even with no warranty something as substantial as a cracked block should be covered under "manufacturing defects" as an IMPLIED warranty at least. I mean, come on, you have a right to expect at least reasonable care would be exercised in the use of basic parts! I would consider this a "gross mistake" on Fords part.
