a real matter of opinion if it's "safer" all around, a fuel pump could start a fire in the extremely hot engine compartment of a b/d quite easily in a crash....hypothetically of course!....many, many vehicles today in production run electric fuel pumps all day long, some even mounted right on the fuel tank!! How unsafe those millions of cars!
There are safeguards available like inertia shut off switches for those that feel the need for the extra protection...you also have that big switch between the seats and one on the dash...
Electric pumps and their regulated pressure are a great cure for vapor lock problems and have been used for years! I bought and used my first one in the early 70's. They aren't some new trick bling item...
To the poor guy that originally started this thread, the applications that were displayed sure look safe, and I would have no problem using something like that.
