Default Bad news

Maggie has us committed for the afternoon so I will need to (embarrassingly) pass .

Scott, your route looks like it could be a great one for an End of Summer Run. Keep an eye out for a winery or two along the way.

Sounds like a terrific adventure with outstanding weather - enjoy!! Sorry I can't be with you.

Tom

Default Location of Starbucks

When I Google map 854 Blossom Hill Rd, SJ, I get a closed restaurant. Can you attach a map of the exact Starbucks or find it on their site and link to it?

I'll pass despite the great weather. Time to pull the engine, clean the engine bay, make a bump-out for the gas pedal side of the foot box, clean up all the coolant stains on the aluminum, painting the brake booster, reassembling the motor... just way too much to do and I want to ride this summer so....

So Herman ... now the motor is coming out ... you have a lot of work to do !!

I'm going to try and meet you guys at Phil's for lunch. Looks like a great route, but I'm too lazy to drive over the hill again.

Scott - No biggie. We've all been in that situation or likely will be in the future. I'm just glad you didn't catch Danette's hair on fire. That would have put quite a damper on the day. Lunch was good and the rest of the drive was nice. We went up Hwy 1 to 84 to Skyline Drive to 92. Didn't get home until almost 5.

By the way, I checked the MSD website and the 2 wire billet distributors like we have must be used with an MSD control box. According to the website, there's no way to bypass control box.

Thanks Chris, Mike and Lane, and the tow truck driver to. He did a good job.

I already had the trouble shooting paper from the MSD web site printed out from a while back. I didn't want to mess with it as soon as we got home, so Danette and I went out to lunch since we were starving. When we got back, I read through the trouble shooting guide and basically it said to try the same thing we were dong on the side of the road to see if the coil or box was bad. So I did a quick check of the coil wire again to make sure it was good. AOkay. Put a screw driver in the distributor end of the coil wire (just like we did on the side of the road) and jump the magnetic pick up wire from the box. WOW, I have a good spark every time I jump it. WTF. So I hook everything back up and figure I would try to start it. WTF, it started right up. Happy that it did, but now I have to find the ghost that caused it. Could be a loose wire somewhere, don't think it would be the ignition switch as every time we tried it it turned over fine. At this point I don't think it would be the MSD box either as the tech told me a while back, it works or it doesn't.

Scott

PS: Danette and Scott's car karma strikes again!
