holes for door support rods

Was their a post at one time about an easier way to drill the holess for the bumper support rods,especially the fronts that are angled? Or does anyone have a easy method?

When I did mine I started like the manual says. start small and then center the best you can to get the 1/2" threaded rod in. Once the rod was in I slide the 1.25" bars over the rods and then I marked all the way around. i then used a air body saw to rough cut and then a file to finish. Seemed to work well.

A Dremel tool with a small sanding drum works really well after you have the initial hole drilled. It cuts quickly enough with little risk of a big "oops".

I think I remember a thread where the technic was to use a dowel or threaded rod was used.
You would start a hole on the body and insert rod aligning to the mounting hole on the frame, align the rod to be straight on with the mounting hole by elongating the drilled hole in the body so the rod will be able to go straight. Then use a hole saw and instead of the drill bit in the middle as a guide, you use the rod going through the mounting point on the frame.
