Default Uca mounting points

Hello to all I have a question about the upper control arm mounting points,has anyone used the upper frame holes. What angle is best to use. My trailing arms are mounted on the lower holes and I was wondering does the ride change much with the increased pinion angle with the arms mounted on the upper holes. I am also thinking about getting new upper and lower urethane bushed control arms and using the stock rubber type of bushing on the diff unless some one has any other input.

I use the upper holes for my trailing arms. I could not get the correct pinion angle using the lowers. I went to adjustable upper trailing arms and that helped. If you are going to use urethane bushings on the upper arms you should also us them on the lowers.

Thanks for the reply... I was referring to the bushings seated in the diff housing
I will be using urethane bushings on all the other control arm spots in the rear except for the upper 2 on the differential mounting points witch hopefully will work well and not be to harsh.

Part# E4SZ-5A is what I was told by a dealer is the best to use. They said stay away from the poly type in the upper diff position and had the below statement on there page.

Never replace rear upper control arm bushings with urethane, due to induced binding, and resulting chassis damage.
Upper control arms must rotate and pivot with axle motion, and rubber is the only material that sufficiently allows for this twisting without chassis damage.

The upper trailing arms (Hotchis) came with the urethane bushings for the upper diferential mounts. I replaced them and have no issues. The bushings only dictate the movement/slop. You should use a grease of some sort on the bolt for it to rotate in the metal sleave that is in the center of the bushing. I used graphite on my bolts.

I used the same hotchkiss upper arms as Tcrist on my 9" housing. I had to hog out the bottom of the arms because there was metal to metal contact when the diff would travel up. I used the upper holes on the chassis. I also used the rubber bushings in my diff., urethane on the upper control arms and the rod ends on the lower control arms. All adjustable. My rear end articulates very well. Pics in my gallery.
