Default CR Rear shock advise ?? / part numbers ??

Looking to replace the rear monroe gas o matic shocks that came with my pile of parts. I am unable to look up the monroe part number as they are very old.

Whats the best all around ride and performance / price rear shocks to go with?

Marty

I am using the Pro Shock coil overs. Mods were required. Let me know if you need more info. I do have some pictures in my gallery if that will help you.

The pro shock coil over set up uses the 8.8 OR you can use the 9" if you want.
DV
PS MaSnaka has a nice set up.

Thanks for that info.........I am using the 8.8 diff housing..355 gears.......
On the pro shock thing what spring rate? and what was the shock unit travel length?
I saw that pro shock makes a 3 4 5 6 inch travel unit. ( an recommendations )?
My driving habits are more in the hard touring not full race. Here in CA. our roads are in very poor condition so medium soft mite be best. My front end has Heidt's Super ride coil over Shocks and a manual rack and all works great. A bit loose in the rear though. I get a good workout on roads with a lot of tight corners..... ( Any Info Welcome ) Thanks.......

Marty,
I would call the tech dept. at Pro Shock. They were very helpful with me when the rear shocks I had purchased through CRII were too long. Find the ride height you want, measure the distance between your shock mounts that you will be using. I think mine was 14" top mount to bottom mount. With 6" of travel you want 3" up and 3" down so when your just sitting the shock plunger is centered in the shock body. They have adjustable rebound S M F. Spring rate is 250. That is from memory so if Im wrong someone please correct me. But the tech should be able to tell you knowing what car you have. Good luck!

John
