.I have always found that to remove the motor alone is easier ......generally the bellhousing will not just drop between the frame rails ...requires some twisting etc. The motor normally is pretty tight in the front at the front crossmembers at the suspension ....so it's easier to take the motor first .....you can probably clean the bellhousing in place .......sounds like there might be an alignment problem with the bellhousing.....

So, thanks to all for their comments and .02 worth. As my son and I get farther into it we are finding so many things wrong with the build of not only the chassis but the engine also. Now mind you some things that were done were awesome, bottom end of the motor is build like a brick outhouse, heads are fantastic, rear end alignment spot on. Found this out when on my third day with the car it stuck WOT in third and she pulled straight as an arrow as I bounced off the rev limiter. DA move on my part. Learn the car John I was telling myself. Any ways. Thanks again for all the replies. We are going all the way down and through and BUFORD will be back on the road in a few weeks and we will make London driving him all the way from Idaho.
I wil form a list later on of the issues.
