Default Texas title

Mine was titled 66 Ford. I asked the state and they said that's incorrect, has to be yr of mfg and state " 66 Shelby Cobra Replica.

Also require certified mechanic check and police dept paper work. And no classic car plates etc.
Im upset--any one run into this. The state lady even made a note on my title records that I have to make these changes or I can't sell the car---

Any thoughts?

My CR was registered as a replica 66 cobra in Hawaii and I ran into some confusion about it when I tried to register it here in Texas because the ladies
hadn't seen this before in the satellite office - she made a phone call and was
told to just do the new title and register it. That was a relief!

You have some reading and preparation to do ... see the "Assembled and Rebuilt Vehicle Manual" for all the details.

There is an old thread on the Texas Cobra Club forum here that relates the experience at a very granualar level. See:
Texas ASVE Title and the VTR-63 Form?

But it is do-able. And you will never need another annual inspection.

Good Luck,
Sam
