Post CR rollbar... Maybe

Hey guys!
I was talking with a fellow over at Shell Valley about their rollbars...

https://www.shellvalley.com/index.cf...prod/prd98.htm

He was saying that he thought there were a few CR guys that had bought them for their cars over the years... Has anyone here picked one up and made it fit?

Cheers
Michael

The problem is after the roll bar goes thru the body, it has to bend forward to hit the steel crossmember just behind the seats. That roll bar would be bolting to just fiberglass.

Oh- that’s why the CR ones have a bend in them. I’ve only seen pictures of them! So, CR said they were for cosmetic purposes only- was that for legal liability reasons? Or will they not hold up to a roll over with a bend in them?

Default RE: SVC roll bars

I recently bought a pair for my CR I, I plan to fabricate up and cross bars to make these work and be properly functional. I will tell you it is going to take a bit to make them work, but the ones from Shell valley are very well made. I went with the raw steel since I will be fabricating things. If you need some exact dimensions from them or anything please hit me up and I will snap some photos.

I would love some dimensions and photos! That would be awesome- thank you very much!
If you can get these shell valley ones to work, and show what it takes, I would be ecstatic. It would probably help out a few other CR owners here as well.
Cheers
Michael

Default RE: SVC roll bars

Uploading images failed here so I threw a few in dropbox. Once I get my design complete for the mounting braces I am designing I will post those too

Here is the dropbox link : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8fi9jka4q...sz0V7khta?dl=0

I will take a few more pics later and add to the folder also.
