Default Accessories Brackets, water pump, timing cover...

Hey all, still getting everything to start my build, tore the engine down, getting ready to rebuild it. Its a 302/5.0 from a 91 mustang. I'm trying to figure out the water pump, timing cover, rad, and accessories bracketry.

So, am I to understand that the CRII uses a passenger side lower rad hose because a rad with a drivers side lower rad hose would cause clearance issues with the steering rack? The rad mine came with is passenger side, so, my plan was to use a standard rotation (clockwise) water pump with passenger side outlet and a early model timing chain cover with the pointer cast into the drivers side, and an aftermarket 3/4 hole damper with timing marks on both sides. I'm also looking at this setup from CVF:
https://www.cvfracing.com/ford-289-3...ternator-only/
but wonder alternator clearance is an issue with these cars. If it is they also make this model:
https://www.cvfracing.com/ford-289-3...th-water-pump/
but I don't see an option for passenger side lower rad hose

Lastly, there's also alternator and power steering kits that use the Saginaw or Ford components:
https://www.cvfracing.com/ford-289-3...ower-steering/
Would this work if I had a Mustang II power rack?

My front end components are all Heights UCA and LCA, GM 1 piston calipers.

I sort of liked this one;

With just a little effort you could get the alternator above the bonnet and out in the clean air which would substantially improve its cooling while driving.

There could be a small downside associated with the placement if you drove the car in the rain, but then again most of us don't — unless we read the clouds incorrectly.

that is the one a friend has on the cobra replica he bought. I'm not sure, neither is he, of the make of it though. His engine sits low, and the alternator wouldn't clear the frame if he had one that mounted low near the water pump, I haven't been able to measure clearance on a CRII, and I'm trying to go for the period correct look, not the Mad Max hood cut out, lol.

My issue will be that my water pump is a reverse rotation, so I will need an Idler Pulley as well. I plan to use CVF as well. Motor is now done and I should be picking it up this week, but still have to get the front accessory drives set up correctly.

I have no easy answers. But in building my Cheetah I found that Alan Grove offered brackets that others didn't. Maybe you'll see something there.

If you switch to a Clockwise passenger side exit pump you can avoid the added tensioner need for the CCW pump. Be aware the the timing cover will have to be changed to Clockwise as well.

I used a March Performance bracket which is a bit lower than the CVF.

To tuck the Alt even lower I switched to a 92-96 Ford Van or F250 alternator. Top mount for the tensioner is at 45 angle. Connections are down low in the alt as well.

It does require a much shorter turnbuckle body, its a hair shorter than the valve cover height now.

why are you using the reverse rotation water pump? Isn't it for serpentine applications?

The reverse rotation, supposedly, does improve the cooling effectiveness of the system on the 5.0 & 5.8.

I do have my 67 Mustang set up using the March pulley system (Alt & PS Pump), It uses the upper turn buckle as a tensioner w/o an idler pulley. But lately I have noticed a bit of groaning from the PS Pump and I am wondering it is too much tension on the pump causing a premature failure.

Right now, I am looking for an accessory system that will either lower the alt on the passenger side to make clearance for the MAF meter or relocate it to the driver's side. I do not have PS on my CR.
