I sort of liked this one;
With just a little effort you could get the alternator above the bonnet and out in the clean air which would substantially improve its cooling while driving.
There could be a small downside associated with the placement if you drove the car in the rain, but then again most of us don't — unless we read the clouds incorrectly.
