Default Need some help on ignition wiring

I'm just about finished wiring my cr cobra with a Painless wiring setup and it has gone better than my fears initially thought. I bought a steering column from DV (and it is so smoothe! Thanks DV) but the column does not have the key on the column . The ignition switch I purchased has 4 lugs on it. The 3 outer lugs are labeled ACC, Ign, Bat and the center post lug has no label. Is the center post a ground? The wiring kit also has 2 plug boxes that I assume plugged into the old column for the ignition. The first box has 2 wires , one red and one orange. The second box has 4 wires in it, red, pink, brown and purple #919 which is for the neutral switch. Unlike all the other Painless wires, these wires have no numbers on them except purple #919. Any ideas on wiring up this ignition switch?

Also, DV, which Lokar shifter are you using for your automatic setups? I down to setting up the transmission shifter and building the brake setup and drive shaft. It looks like I have timed this construction project well with about 3 weeks before the schools start back up and I'm just about finished with all but the paint job. Oh to have the body painted by then!
Thanks to all the great advice to my specific questions and all the other advice I have gleemed from this forum. Chuck

Hi
Here's how my generic dash mounted switch was marked
By the way I wired it to use a momentary push button start once the key is flipped to the ignition position.

1-Batt
2-St (centre terminal) ( the one you are interested in)
3-Ign
4-Acc

If you are in doubt, just meter it out with a meter.
Remember that the batt terminal (1) is the common or path to each of the other terminals once the key is rotated to the corresponding positions
acc 4
ign 3
start 2

Ps do a search using ignition switch as a key word and you will find my thread on the same, many were helpful with the same questions re: painless

Similar issues. Used CR wiring harness, Ididit column with no ignition, and '70 Ford F150 dash mounted ignition switch.

Re-routing the Chevette column ignition wiring was a little trickier than expected with CR harness. Unfamiliar with Painless wiring nomenclature, so would call them to find out what connects to what.

Don't hook any ground wires up to the ignition switch.

You have a power in (Battery), accessories power out (Acc), ignition power (or Run) out (Ign), and start power out (St).

Here's how it works if you need to diagram it out, or check it with an ohmmeter. Key to left powers accessories (radio, gauges, fan relay control, - anything you want to go on/off with key). Key to right powers ignition (anything you want to go on/off with ignition. MSD box, electric choke) AND accessories through the Acc terminal. Key to start powers starter solenoid, AND ignition, BUT NOT ACCESORIES. It's designed that way to save power for starting, and save your electronics from damage due to voltage spikes.

The Start Out is supposed to go through a safety switch on the trans or shifter to prevent starting in gear.

Headlights & chassis lights are not powered through the ignition switch.

Have you looked at any of the B&M shifters. Hammerhead looks like nice unit for auto trans.

Thanks guys, I resorted to calling Painless tech service. The wait at least had some good music to listen to. The wiring is now complete except for hooking front and rear after the paint job. The last trussles are setting up the transmission shifter and building a drive shaft before sending the car out to be painted. I do believe I may have a few days off before imparting knowledge on our future generation. Chuck
