Default CobraBOB (?)

OOps! Should be "CHOPPERBOB" not Cobra Bob!One great guy to work with! Top came in today just like stated...Only one problem...it's a new style top and not the old-original type. No big deal, will work just fine. Thanks Bob.

it is finished to the point that I made a huge mistake by listening to Pete in getting the car painted. I just know I want a top. I bought a top. Don't have a top. Will need a top. My lack of a top just is a constant reminder the the pinheads I have encountered along this journey. Sour grapes. Thanks Pete, time will always expose people for their true color. I knew I saved this email for a reason.

From 2/08/07- yes SEVEN... and now where is CRII ?

"Bill,
Your soft top will be coming to you. I have never made an "empty promise" concerning your top. We initially had horrendous problems with machinery that required complete repatterning of the tops and delays due to retooling after IMAR could not get the products we had ordered produced. Thus, requiring that we open our own upholstery operation. We had to struggle with the machines and tooling that were delayed for months. Now we are ready to ship 10 tops of which 30 are backordered but we cannot get the headers that get attached to the front of the top that sits on top of the windshield frames. The company that provides them has a monopoly on them and we have been waiting for them to ship from the U.K. for eons. The trim rings are not cheap. That's not our fault. I am curious. Where did you get the impression that there was ever any lack of trust on my part about your ability to pay? I'll send you 3 screws for the windshield today - no charge.
Pete J. "

J.T.,
not sure of the problem other than the car is painted? Easier to do, but certaihnly do-able. Top I am hoping to put on Sunday is also a painted car. Caution, caution, and a little nail biting!

I rest my case. I truly have a perfect paint job. I don't want to mess it up.

J.T.,Since you don't have a top this wont help you much, hoping we could put them on together-oh-well. In the mean time find 24 plastic washers about 1/4" in diameter with an 1/8th" center-give or take. (Black or White are common.) These are going to go between the pins and the body. Get a small bottle of crazy glue or lock tight to put on the threads of the pins-just a drop please. (This will help keep the pins from vibrating loose over time.) An 1/8th" sharp drill bit, a very pointed punch about 4"s long. I use one that looks like a screwdriver handle with an icepick. And of course a top. Is your car striped or unstriped?

it is striped. But I wouldn't bother wasting the time typing. By the time I get a top, I would be asking all the questions all over again.
