Wetdog,
I just couldn't wait any longer to replace my stolen equipment. Nice to be able to do it again, but these are certainly not "mandrel" bent! No kinks, but still not mandrel!
Hows your car comiing? Gotta be getting close, hey!

I'll get the steering joint thing you need shipped out next day, so you have it on Tuesday. Have to see the back surgeon on Thursday the 28th. so I'll keep you posted on what's going on.
Gives you time to practice your pipe bending skills

Just an old policy of mine; I'll set the rear end up for the right angle, fill the tranny up, add the drive shaft, set the motor in 0' +0', add antifreeze check for leaks, kick in the over ride for the fan, set the pinion angle, roughly set the front alignment, mount the steering with the new Heim, make sure the shifter has both neutral starts. Fans on both headers, mount the seats but have to change the metric bolts to allen head bolds, hook up the emergency brake and bleed all the brakes, adjust throttle, kick down lever and brake linkes.
Open all the shop doors including the overhead and THEN make some Thunder! Small burn out like I said, check the posi- bent axles. clutches in the rear end grab evenly. In small words make it a true "Go-Kart!"
Then finish the body, final wiring, lemans cap etc, etc... Lot of small but fun stuff from here on out!

OH-yea; Did I mention a Four Point roll bar? Or was that a DV II Five point?

Notcher is on its way, along with the heim joint. You should have both by tomorrow.
If you want to go with a different style/manufacture for the dash switches, thats alright with me. Just let me know what you need.

Cpteddie,
Both of them are excellent choices!
Haven't seen a small white plastic "T", two vacum solenoid/motors a long blue wire with a circuit breaker built in and a little plastic cheap box with two round black control knobs on it have you? Oh, and a three wire pigtail, yellow, red, orange too with a black 2 pin male connector around anywhere, have ya? (All heater "stuff".)
I know it's all in the shop, top shelf 3rd box over!

It's all probably right next to your coffee cup
Should I order those switches to replace the Lucas ones?

LOL OK so you found your coffee cup. Did you find the missing heater parts?

Yes,
Heater material all accounted for, just stesting! The ODM .160x2.ID roll bar material will be here Wednesday, getting darn tough to beat the CHINESE to it, your super Spicer driveshaft and joints should be here Wednesday also. VaRooooom!
Now if I can only find the body, we can reallly make progress!

You should have a couple of needed items showing up today, along with a new toy to play with.
What's the ETA on firing that bad boy up?

ED,
Don't mean to be putting you off (phone line is back in!) Just got the fitting for the motor for the heater hose, both fittings and adapters from #6 to #10 haven't come in yet. (Transmission.) Rear end pinion isn't set yet, (Going to try and post pictures of the lazer tool doing that.) Choke cable is now through the dash and hooked up, gas pedal is now mounted, cable run but needs set up. The new switches will be put in, the old ones removed, the master switch will be moved, all cavity's will be filled with the proper fluid, run a couple of fans for the headers until they are broken in. Hook up the overide switch for the fan, (heater coupler is already in), also put in the coupler to the temp gauge in the block, out of sight by the way, much neater this way. Heater lines are run and hooked up, now just the heater fan motor and the two servos.
Probably more than you wanted to know.
Hopefully tomorrow after noon we'll fire it up via "hot wire" then the remote/button starter will be finalized.
Believe it or not the four point just got about 150% easier to do! I forgot the last Cobra I built was local and I put in a 4-point in his car. I can use his as a template instead of starting from scratch!
Think I'll finish up the servos on the heater now....
DV
PS- Hope your back is at least letting you go about the day without grief!

DV!!!! YOUR BACK!!!
Done playing with the backhoe?
Thanks for the update!!! I'll be over to your place a week from this Saturday. Just got back from the doctor and I do have to get the back fixed. The schedule is up to me, but he wants to do it sooner than later. We can talk about that next week. When you get caught up, post some pics.
Hey don't forget to swap the location of the speedo and the tach... remember?
