My passengers usually had a good time even after the lecture, but their rejection came from the discomfort. Even before my wife ditched the car because of the harness/roll bar issue she didn't care much for the heat in the foot box and sitting cockeyed twisted her back. I imagine the forward roll bar segment in the 289 cars makes it even worse.

I think the database is acting up again. I did a quoted reply and it doesn't show up. It did show as being the last person to reply in the forum list but the material is missing. Let's see if this bumps it loose like the stuck candy bar in the vending machine.

Nope. Anyway the comment was that after the discussion about roll bars and harnesses, most people that didn't like the Cobra passenger side was due to discomfort. The foot box can cook a turkey faster than an oven and you're sitting at an odd angle, which is bad for long rides. The first time I rode as a passenger I agreed. I can't imagine what a 289 car with the forward roll bar would be like because it takes away even more foot room.

Cobras aren't much more comfortable for the driver, but you're having so much fun your the fun tops the discomfort. I asked Carroll about it and he said something he paid his drivers to drive not to be comfortable.
