Here's a few more pics. Windshield, rear hatch and door glass should get mounted in the next day or two. Rear spoiler mold is about done too. Hood has struts to hold it up nicely. Everything is fitting extremely well. Larry's body experience is obvious when you see how well every thing fits together.

I wasn't there for the start but knowing that Brent Lykins built the engine to over the top specifications and a first start was more of a formality than anything else. This thing is going to be a monster!!!

Larry Goins of JBL is doing a masterful job on the entire build along with Brent Lykins engine and Mats money this thing is going to be a site to see. I believe the plans are to have it ready for the Darrell Starbird show February 15, 2013 along with a couple other JBL creations.

Way to go Mat, Larry, and Brent!

Clois

Here's another short video to show it can move under its own power. Larry's working on door windows, and getting it ready for the Daryl Starbird car show next weekend. Body will be in primer but every one will get a good look at the chassis.

Awesome Mat! Front suspension questions - what is normally an upper control arm I see 2 holes, one inner and one outer. Does that change the spring rate or ride? Also - no 'typical' ball joints, may be on to something there. Camber adjusted with the upper knuckle?

I see you went with a QuickFuel Carb. I think you will really like it. Mark and I have them on our cars and they require very little attention once tuned.

Yes on control arms. The inner hole is where the coil overs mount. The outer hole is where a blade type sway bar mounts to. It will be cockpit adjustable as well. Yes on that theaded rod end at the top of the spindle/upright. It will adjust camber. I think its pretty cool as well

Can't wait to get it too RunNGun!

Sorry, but not much exciting to photo. Rear glass mold is almost complete. Larry will probably send that out to the lexan guy this coming week. We're hoping 1/4" rear hatch wont need a frame, but we'll see. Power windows are designed. Production window frames will probably get worked this coming week as well. Dash will come out this week and if alum insert fits, gauges will go in and toggles get wired. Reverse selenoid module needs wired. Gas cap recesses and headlight buckets need fabbed too. Still lots of little stuff. I'll hopefully have more time to stop in this week. The wife gave me the flu last week.

OK, NOW the front end is done. All lock tighted up. New steering brackets, and caliper mounts were re-machined. Sharp eyes may notice new polished uprights. I think they're pretty cool. They match the upper control arm fairly well. (I at least want to look fast!!) Wiring is 95% done behind the dash. I'll attempt to make a final center console Monday. Might even do some carting next week. May need to re-sand aluminum dash insert next week. It has to come apart one more time to get wraped anyway.
