Just fitted my 60mm Smiths clock.
A short story goes with it…. I had to make up an adaptor to fit it into the dash panel….reason being that when I made the panel, I assumed that the Smiths clock (original fit on early 289 cars and English COB cars) was ‘unobtainium’, so I made the hole where the clock should go larger in size (around 68mm) to take a 10psi SW 2⅝” fuel pressure gauge, which some of the early 289 Comp cars had instead of a clock.
Then I found a clock. Hence the need for an adaptor that would not be too noticeable.
Here’s the adaptor…
Here’s the clock fitted to the dash, with the adaptor…
Cheers!
Glen

Nice work Glen, not really noticeable at all. While accelerating the person in the passenger seat will not be able to look down at the clock anyways!

Fitted the quickjacks yesterday. Expected a two hour job....took me all day
Yes, they are close to the bodywork; no, not touching
Cheers!

Hey Glen, I got some bad news for you... Your clock is broken... its always 30mins behind.
Ok, guilty. Terrible dad joke...
Thanks for the continued updates. Your build keeps me coming back.

Seasons greetings Anth! Yeah, I know, but it's a Smiths clock!
I read somewhere recently that back in the '60s, similar Smiths clocks fitted to some Jaguars barely made it to the end of the 12 month warranty period.
It's the 'look', not the correct time, that I'm after. Call me shallow
Cheers!
Glen
edit: oh, I just got it.
Ain't that just so ridiculous. Nowhere else in the world does it happen
