Thumbs up No SB100 number!

My temp is good thru Oct.06. Although my block is a 1966, the cam & carb aren't. I'll have to wait it out until Jan.07 and get an Sb100#, or change out much of my engine.

An SB100 number come Jan. is all I need. There are a few 'trick's' I could try, but I'm hoping I won't need them. An SB100 number solves everything!

So a few more weeks of driving & then I put her up for a couple of months until Jan.!

jdog
P.S. This whole process has taught me patience like nothing else!

How would they know what cam is in the 65 s/o block and what are the chances they would be able to read a list# /date code correctly on carb? Heck the date code on the block is impossible to read in a Cobra bay. Run her lean and hot and pray.IMHO

Jdog, what about those alloy heads? I figured THEY would be a bigger problem than carb and cam.

I figured my 'street stock' 600 cfm vacuum secondaries would be acceptable, they SHOULD be on the 'acceptable' green dot list in Calif. My cam is a flat tappet, but still might be to aggessive, but I'd bet with proper tuning my engine setup WOULD pass the 'gross polluter' standards applicable to ALL cars\years. OEM heads and intake, both date coded 1964. I would use 1964 and register as "year of motor" if I ever needed to deal with the Cailf shuffle.

The only way they would 'know' what cam you got is when you fail the 'gross polluter' standards. But sportyworty comments would apply in that case.

...just some thoughts...

Default Heads two!

Yeah the heads too, Ernie!

The whole engine was built around having an SB100 number, I have a lot at stake!

jdog
P.S. I pity anyone who gets between me & DMV, come Jan.!

well well I have aluminum heads, big cam, and a 750 with all the numbers ground off ( and a squashed brass float in many pieces on my work bench) I have a 70' XR 750 flat track bike converted to street use. How did I get that registered again? Thanks for the link definately an area to pay attention to
