Don't deal with Shelbourne
I wish I caught this thread earlier. I would have recommended not to hire anyone in the Shelbourne area since its a tiny little town and a lawyer who practices there probably isn't all that actively good or may actually know the person since the small town issue. If you're ready to hire the real thing let me know. Toronto has a Lawyer district that I can help you with. It's known as Bay Street.

I hired Larry Haskell in Shelbourne. I initially tried a few other firms but they didn't want to mess with small claims court. He seemed more concerned about saving me money than getting the money owed me at first. I finally told him to be more aggressive hence the long delay from the start. I too wish you had seen this thread a long time ago.

I got a call from the barrister and a check for the balance is on the way. It still cost me 2K after atty's fee and getting the funds in Canadian dollars (Barrister screwed up) but no big complaints.

John, Glad you got some return. I sell stuff on E-bay regularly and can't imagine giving anyone this type of treatment. I don't believe that I had missed the thread when it began. Having just lost my dad and mom in the last 2 months and finding out that my wife had breast cancer( and ensuing surgery) I at first could understood some of that...but then to have the block destroyed...come on... I know that there are some weaknesses in the SO blocks, but fragility isn't a word I'd ever use. You have always struck me as a straight forward guy and I'm sorry to hear that you weren't treated in a straight forward way.
