Clutch Slave cylinder
Any one know what brand slave cylinder was used in Contemporary's (427 FE) with stock bell housing? Numbers on unit are 29358 and 4k2 MADE IN USA. This was a 1989 build by Don Border. Any help greatly appreciated.

If Don built it then you have a well built Cobra. I met Don a few times and his cars are always top notch. I'm not sure what slave the is but you most likely can use any other unit. You just might have to make a bracket for your application.
Dennis Qualla at Pantera Performance sells one nice unit. It has an adjustable rod that makes for easy fittment.

Streetrod: I have a later model Contemporary. My car had a 390FE in it when I purchased it, and I used the same clutch slave cylinder when I replaced the engine with a Shelby 427FE (replica) engine and changed to a Lakewood bell housing. When the cylinder started leaking I found out that Sunbeam Tigers used the same unit, which is a Girling HP26T ($128.50). I purchased mine from Sunbeam Specialties in Campbell, CA (408) 371-1642, in case you don't have a local Sunbeam shop. This guy is very nice and knows his stuff. He has a good web site. Rich

slave cylinder
Mike: I have a few on my cell phone but I can't find the interface cable to transfer to my PC to send. The numbers in my post are correct. It's about the size of the girling unit. I've been looking in the build manual and the build sheet for any info or suggested parts, but nothing so far. I thought about a local Auto parts store to see if they could cross reference the numbers. If I can find the cable I will post the pics. Thanks, Where can you find folks willing to help like this...

NAPA and perhaps others have an illustration chart in their catalogs at the stores that will show either a photo or drawing of each one offered.

Napa Auto parts number NNC 36124; Wagner SC38075. 1 1/16" bore, Inlet size 7/16"-24. They look like a good match. I will find out in a day or two when it is delivered. Thanks for all your help. Mick; I will take a dig. photo and get it to you in case someone else needs the same type part.

clutch slave cylinder
I just went through this. Tried the CNC unit to no avail, even after grinding off one of the ears. the bleed needs to be in the upright position. Mine was a Girling as well. It ended up being a part from a '61-70 Volvo P-1800. Good luck. what a PITA!! The one Cobra Restorers had would not fit.

Clutch slave cylinder
Back together again and working. Part number was Wagner SC124369, purchased from Napa Auto parts. Picture to follow for anyone else who encounters this problem.

These guys have a picture http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
The problem I see with that is the bleed is on the bottom as Dave has just been through.

You can mount it with the bleed valve in nthe up position as the mounting tabs are in the center of the piston body.
