I forgot to send instructions, I'll post them here:
1: Open USPS package and located camera within, making sure to only use the plastic safety scissors that you borrowed from the nursery school across the street.
2: Once you have opened the package and located the camera, open flap "A" marked "battery enclosure".
3: Look at pretty picture embossed on battery compartment lid, place correctly sized "AA" batteries in their proper orientation and close lid.
4: Located power button on top surface of camera and push button once, green light will appear showing camera is now on.
4a: If power light does not come on, open battery enclosure and switch the orientation of the batteries as you must not have paid attention to instruction line #3.
Now,and this is very important,
5: remove camera lens cover
6: Make sure to point camera lens towards item to be photographed (caution, make sure LCD screen is not pointed away from your body, otherwise you will take wonderful pictures of your eye and/or face)
7: With camera properly oriented towards object to be photographed, push button on top of camera to the right of the on/off button to snap a shot of the item.
8: Congratulations, you have now taken a picture, pat yourself on the back, grab a beer, and sit back and take a break as these lessons can over tax your cerebral cortex.
Hope you find this helpful.
Bill S.

Hi All,
We had $300 in additional donations come in at the end of last year, and I thought I would update everyone:
Since it's been awhile, I thought I would update everyone on the funds we've raised so far and how they have been spent:
Total raised to date: $4,638
Distribution of funds to date: $2,950
$1,000 to Acton Custom for work done/being completed
$275 to DV to rent a trailer for car transport
$1,675 to 767Jockey to have on hand to pay for heads/other parts when he finds the right deal(s) - unspent as of now
Total balance remaining in account: $1,688
Plus all of the parts and services contributed.
I can't wait to see this car on the road!
Happy New Year everyone!

Any news on the process? How is it coming along?
I also have 1 more thing. I got my hands on 3 VERY sweet Cobra logos, for the front hood. I would love to donate 1 of them, if needed.

Michael,
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. However the car has all the emblems already on it. Again, I really do appreciate your generous offer. Thanks!

Doug,
If you want it, anyway, it is yours. This is a special old school emblem (the seller bought them back in the 1971 so they might be original Cobra emblem). He saved them, so they are NOS parts That is why I bought the 3 he had So if you want it, it is yours

Maybe Ed (DV) is trapped in his shop with all the snow they have been getting up there and he left the camera and laptop in the house!

I have been watching this hoping that Ed Combs (DV) would chime in. Come to think of it, I have seen nothing at all from him in weeks. Hoping he is OK !! ??

Hmmm, perhaps he took the DCDoug escrowed funds and made a run for the Caymans?

Guys,
I spent about an hour on the phone with Ed yesterday, and he asked me to post this on this thread to let all of you know what he's up to and why he's been less active than usual on the forum here. Ed's doing just fine, he's been buried in snow all winter, apparently much more than usual. He just got about a foot Tuesday night, with more forecast for later yesterday and last night. His heater is very expensive to run and doesn't work all that well, so in very cold conditions like he had this winter he can't work in the shop. The bottom line is his shop has been buttoned up and unused all winter. He's got a few projects in there that he's trying to get to, of course my car is in there, as well as the former CaptEddie car, and a couple of other Cobra's. Once winter breaks it's icy grip up in Western Michigan Ed will be at it again.
Of course you're all aware of his loss of internet service, that is the main reason he's not been on the forum here. He has a dial up modem that he's trying to hook up, but has not been very successful with. He intends to drive around maybe once a week and look for WiFi hot spots to get on the forum and check in.
I was able to get my former aluminum stroker engine down to Jay Nordstrom recently, what a pleasure to meet him. Jay, I hope you enjoy the engine, it's a beauty. I'll sure miss having it, but I know you'll find a ride that will give it a proud and proper home. Guys, if you haven't had the chance to meet Jay, he's a true gentleman and a great guy to hang around with. I got to spend about an hour or so in his "man cave" and what a great time that was. Incredible cars and some good friends. Thanks again, Jay. The three day drive beat me up pretty good, and the hour or so rest was much appreciated.
Well, that's about it from this end, one day soon, Ed says the build of my car will start, and I hope all of you will enjoy it as much as I will. I would be remiss in not thanking all of you yet again for the incredible outpouring of support and generosity. You are all incredible guys, thank you all so much. I have an appointment in late May that will tell me a lot about how effective all the treatment was, and I should have a reasonable idea on where my life is going to go after that. Either way, you guys gave me something great to look forward to during some incredibly dark days when I was so sick during treatment, and I can't thank you all enough for that.
Spring is coming to the North, and it's here in Texas in a big way - everyone get out and enjoy those beautiful Cobras. I hope to join you all one day. Thanks again !
Doug

I have been on this forum for ten years. In the old days Jay would post all the time. Now he never posts. He is a hell of a good man. I remember him from the first Spring Fling. Tell him I said hello.

You don't need to, just get well and get over here.
Have you had any further thoughts about what else you'd like to do while you're here? As an airman, you might enjoy the Imperial War Museum at Duxford - IWM Duxford - Europe's premier aviation museum .
In the meantime, take care of yourself.

From the missing and bored:
Found Wi-Fi! At least I can be in contact every few days. Yesterday, worst snow, hail, ice storm, Lightning no less that Michigan has seen for some time. Another day like that and I'm putting the plow back on!
