Asking and getting are two different things. I would think that MM is a lot closer to reality than what they are asking.

after following the ads and posts for a couple years, driving a few, getting serious about owning one--i settled on ccx3818. in my opinion, holding out for the right car at the right price is crucial. i decided in this order: builder first, mechanical specs and general shape second, color third, owner history forth. one car make, many different permutations. mine checked off on all 4, and still i was able to negotiate a price FAR below the asking price. i think that like the housing market, the gap in perceived value is closing somewhere in the middle.
