I have updated the history of CCX with some frame stamping pics of an early car.
Contemporary Classic Motorcar History
I doubt a prototype or short run car like that would have the stamping but it's worth a look.
They also used a plaque riveted to the foot box on a lot of CCX's.

The 289 FIA that Canaska brought to 1996 Run and Gun belongs (ed?) to Scott Richey and it was a Contemporary.

That was the one I linked to. It was built by Contemporary per my conversation with Peter. I made the 6 piston Wilwood brake set up for the front end so it could go out and blast some track records. Scotts horns come out when he gets behind the wheel of that car.
The reason I brought that car up is the 289's bodies were put right over their 427 frame and worked well. I'll find out more about the slab.

AFAIK, 260/289 cars were 3" round tube, and chassis width was 4" less than the 427.
The 427 chassis being widened to accomadate the BB engine, and stiffened by the larger 4" tube.

X2, and they got rid of the proper wire wheels it was originally purchased with.

I suspect that 40K bid from the last auction was an "air bid"

Same car, I guess a no sale at that time, they wanted to sell to me at wholesale of 60K two years ago believing the car was worth 80-100K
