Front uprights are indeed E type. George has front hubs http://www.cobraracing.com/ProductsP...ccessMain.html tell him I said "Hi". If you shoot me a PM or an e-mail address I will send you electronic copies of the CCX manual. You've got a good one welcome to the madness.

Copy of Electronic Manual
I would love a copy of the manual. My Contemporary is an early model completed in 1984.
Thanks,
Len

Nick is the CCX man, has some very nice upgrades for them. I know as I bought some first hand and it was great addition to the car.
Floor mounted pedals, 44 Gallon type tank, roll bar and watts linkage etc.....
Comp style Contemporary tank

Nick IS the man! He installed the watts linkage on my car and she hooks up great and handles like a dream.

Hi,
There is an un-started Contemporary kit for sale in the UK that looks like a real bargain. It looks to be about 90% complete and includes a number of desirable upgrades, including billet lower rear suspension arms, Watts linkages and front coil-over suspension.
Th only main items missing are I think, fuel tank, seats and gearbox. There is an FE engine, although it would probably need stripping to check it over, Salisbury diff, all the electrics, guages, carpets, lights, rad, fans, flywheel, clutch and Lakewood, wheels & tyres, brakes, braided steel lines.
The seller sent me a load of photos and the list of parts is impressive.
The thread can be found here although it doesn't give much detail:
http://www.cobraclub.com/forum/part-...obra-sale.html
It is all as originally supplied and the build has never been started.

Hi Nick
Thanks for the manual - all received ok.
The kit I am looking at is the one mentioned in Paul's (FatBoy) post and is indeed a bargain. I hope I can raise the money before it is snapped up.

Hi Neil,
Having already built a Contemporary, I'm pretty familiar with the build process, so please let know if I can help.
Nick is the real authority on these, as is Jeff, but I'm obviously a little nearer.
Good luck with the purchase and let us all know if you manage to secure it.

Hi Paul.
Many thanks for the offer and should I be able to raise the required funds then I will most definately be in touch - just did not want to jump the gun and build my hopes up ( and Marlon's ).
Yours posts on the CRC have already been a huge help and coupled with the knowledge held on this site too I am sure all of my questions would be answered.
How does the Contemporary stack up against a Crendon?
I was going to ask over on the CRC but did not want to stir things up.
Once again thanks for the offer.

Thanks guys, Leonard I sent you a PM. Two CCX's in the shop now, both have their manuals all printed out.

There's nothing missing there. It's all just waiting to be put with the car ;-)
Another real time capsule CCX, that's neat. I hope it finds a good home. Let me know if I can help.

Their showcase track ready CCX FIA prototype car had steering arms cut, rotated and welded and bolted into a new position to reduce bump steer. The Jag geometery correctly installed should be pretty nice. We were going to do a dropped E type axle with the front uprights of a hot rod but the geometry worked so well simply lowering it and leaving it alone worked. That does lower the instant center and roll center significantly. The picture shows the steering mods and the large by huge 6 piston Wilwoods I was putting to it. The owner is a hot shoe :-)

That's interesting. That upright and steering arm is the same as the first ones I had, which had bump steer problems. The replacements had the steering arms angled down by maybe 15 degrees, but that's only a guess.

Hi
Paul - The funds unfortunately, are not a given at this stage and are dependant entirely upon my wife ( and how much she will let me have ) , hence why I have not yet been up to see Marlon.
Re - the Front uprights - I thought they may be missing as the hubs were too - Marlon did explain what happened to them to me.
From Nick's post I assume that the Jaguar uprights should be ok but may need some fettling.
Once again thanks for all your input and now I'll be looking for Jag breakers in the UK.

I have what your looking for. I have the complete front end assemblies, left & right sides for a CCCMC Coil Over with pin drive set-up. Only drove 2oo miles with this set-up before changing it to another set-up. Send me an email at downtime000@yahoo.com and I'll send you the pictures.
