Front shocks

The car will be off the road for a couple of weeks-have most of the parts, just waiting for the QA1 shocks and the rebuild upper ball joint kit from SNG Barett (have the sealed lower ball joints, the replacement bushings and other hardware) when I get everything should be a fun filled weekend(colorful language included)

I just finished up doing all new coil overs and bushings. Mine were also cracked and some were completely gone. I couldn’t identify the shocks that were on there (black with red coils, front end is Coilover also). I went to qa1 and entered the size I needed and went with DD404 for front and DD402 for back (I believe from memory). Also used 500# springs in front and 250 in back. Sits and rides great. The only problems I really encountered was the fronts. The top of the QA1’s come with a flat top and the existing coils has a cone shaped cap. I had to order those style from QA1 but it still just barely hit the top bracket. I believe the original coils were metric so they were a hair smaller than the 2.5” I used from QA1. I just needed to grind a little off the upper bracket to make them fit without interference.

The bolts are also metric and most bushings and coils overs come with standard bolt sizes so I switched the short bolts to a grade 8 1/2” bolt to better fit the sleeves. Rides and handles great. Set up the compression and rebound for firm ride.

Let me know if you have any problems. I searched on here and other forums to find a match but had no luck and just had to start measuring things and figuring out what fits. Also energy suspension or prothane let you look up bushings by bolt sleeve size and eye hole size (inner and outer diameter).
