don't quit now Scott,
I plan on starting on one within the next week when Jay brings his up from Dallas. I will try and post some on this thread as well, OR maybe just start a new one.

Scott, It looks great!!!!!! I love the front headlights. Were those LED's at the bottom of the headlight? Where did you get them?
I've never seen anything like that...

JCM,
Where are the shoulder belts attached?
I am thinking about welding in a cross tube between the roll bars and wrapping them around it.

Horizontal bar across the back of the seats. Make sure it is placed appropriately. I think it is the Simpson website which gives you the proper angles and mounting approaches.

Thanks John,
I looked at the Simpson website and found what they suggest.
Here is the photo I promised and forgot, I am using a Lakewood scatter shield and a T-5, there is also a view of the oilpan.

Coupe Dash
I think I have the building blues behind me now, a little time in the shop does wonders.
I may tone down the colors on the Longacre switch panels, but they sure are a nice product.

Side vents, a Rotozip, small hand grinder and some Clecos make the job a snap!

I am going to get the front end aligned it is a typical Mustang II setup any suggestions for castor/camber and toe in? Is it proper to have the rear end completely square to the frame or is some tracking offset desirable?
Thanks

Thanks Pete, working on the coupe is a wonderful distraction. The wife and daughter just left for a quick trip to the islands.

Going to be running the "de-tuned" version on the dyno within the next 2 weeks. Then we'll know. I went for the 302 primarily to avoid issues with state title & registration. VA just changed their rules to a good set, but last year when I bought the car, their rules were very vague and had been interpreted harshly. That meant I needed to have an older block in the car and the 347 was a late model 302 block. The one Rich put in is more contemporary with the car. Essentially, this meant that I would not have issues with the state that I could have withth 347. With the law change, permitting titling by year of replica with safety & emissions following that year, the dyno results will dictate what happens to the drivetrain.
I will try and get photos of the spoiler for you this weekend. Have you regained your drive to finish?
John

I got it titled and licensed on Friday, of all the things I hate about Oregon goverment this is just so easy. I took the MSO down to the office filled out a simple title app and they asked to do a VIN inspection. I pulled the little VIN plate supplied by Shell Valley out of my pocket and asked if that would do, no problem said the clerk as he handed me the plates and sent me on my way.
I just got back from the tire shop getting the Coupe aligned, I just eyeballed the settings in my shop and I was very close. The rearend was only a 1/16" off of being square and the front end took just a few turns of adjustment. The mechanics are really cool at the shop so I could help out and spend as much time as I wanted looking around under the coupe as it was on the rack. No leaks and no loose bolts it looks as if I may have done decent job putting it together.
It is time to start picking out a color and get it in a paint shop, I am thinking red as nearly all the coupes I have seen are blue.
Any suggestions?

While watching the blue coupes on "Victory by Design - Ford" last night on Speed I got to thinking that if I ever do build a coupe, I'm not going to paint it blue & white.
Of course that decision lead to the question... what the heck color would I paint it?
Either: red, red with white stripe, or red with black stripe.
The next question... what color red!

I built mine back in 1999 and was very happy with it, I am sure they are even better now.

I stopped by the bodyshop today to put a bit of a hurry up on the owner the coupe has been in the shop since the first of June.
I was told that it will get primed over the weekend and will have color on it by Thursday next week.
