A post was made about a Gear Vendors (tailshaft/electric overdrive unit) for racing applications. Would unit work for CR toploader street/higway application on a FE powered Cobra, Mark III Chassis?

http://www.gearvendors.com/racing.html

TIA

Gary

Default Overdrive

I talked with gear vendors at the SEMA show this year. It would work fine but it will be too long for a Cobra. We talked about making a shorter shaft and tailhousing to adapt to their unit and make it shorter overall. I am so heavily involved in reproducing the rest of the transmission I have not had time to look into the overdrive more.

The price for the Gear Vendors unit 3D6000 is $2495.
When you add in the price for a Toploader, you can almost buy a G-Force 5spd.

Copied from Gear Vendors

" 3D6000 Custom Ford Top Loader/Jerico 4-Speed Racing Trans. Replaces 9 1/2" tail housing. Requires bearing plate, (included). Ford Top Loader/Jerico 4-speed manual racing trans. Specify if using rear end pump. "

Thanks for the reply. Yes the toploader parts are the most important.
