Ruble,
What you and others continually fail to understand is that not everyone subscribes to the same false notions of originality when building these cars. If someone chooses to build the perfect replica, I applaud them for it, but I didn't care to go in that direction myself. What I wanted was a hot street machine that didn't look like everything else out there, would be easy and inexpensive to maintain, and durable when thrashed. Oh yeah, and I didn't want to tie up a ton of cash in a car that was intended to be driven hard (never wanted to own a garage queen).

Just for the sake of argument, sbc crate motor with steel crank, 4 bolt main, roller cam and alum heads only cost $2,395 when I bought it in 1990 (all new parts). 1987 F&R Corvette suspension cost only $650 complete!! Do you see where I'm going with this?

BTW, I could afford a 427SO if I want one, I don't.

And please, spare me the lecture about resale, I didn't build it to resell it and make a profit. I also don't kid myself into thinking I really own a Cobra. I know what I own, but I'm not sure that others are as realistic about what they own.

If anyone is truly offended by a non-blue oval-powered non-original Cobra replica, they need to see a shrink....quickly!!

One other thing, I've been meaning to ask you, exactly what year was it that Shelby sold Cobras with chrome 5 spoke Cragar wheels....? And don't Hunter Cobra's utilize Corvette suspension components too...? Shame on you Ruble...!!

See you on Saturday,

Mike
