Thumbs up At last somebody interested

Alright Jerry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Glad to see you're still alive and well after VIR trip.
I will send you info on the Bay Bottom Crawl via email - I need your address (just looked and don't have it).
The idea is to cruise down to Sugar Loaf Key just north of Key West. Doc and I were just going to spectate this year, and then who knows what for the following years.
It sounds pretty intense, you go off the road and end up in the bay That's why I'm playing the Big Chicken this year.

What kind of trailer did you get. I just came to terms on a deal to help all my friends and their friends and so on to get an all alum. trailer like mine at discounted prices. You going to pull it with the TT ?

I will check on were the West Palm guys are staying, cause I know some are going down to the Key for this. When I find out, will let everyone know.

Yeah, some action here!!!

I know the Sugar Loaf Inn is right there and usually has rooms, no matter what Holiday is around. BUT, the big BUT, I remember John Phillp's complaining about something that happened there last year. Maybe he can fill us in on what's what.
I've stayed there before and found it quite pleasant. The rooms are nice and the decor is out of the 50's. Plenty of parking and a neat restaurant. We were able to get 7 rooms during the annual Peterson's Harly Davidson Poker Run to Key West. Everything in Key West was sold out, not a room to be had, let alone 7. It was a spur of the moment thing, non of us had planed to go that year.
The Inn in Sugar Loaf had no problems with our bunch of loud rowdy bikers. Maybe John was too nice!!!

Let's get a report from John first before we make reservations.
If it's ok for our Cobras, I'll post the reserv. phone #, how's that Terry?

This will be the perfect weather for this type of event !!!!!!!

We will cruise down to Key West on Saturday Oct 11th, with a possible stop at Sugar Loaf Key to spectate at the Bay Bottom Crawl. Sunday, a day of fun and sun and more Bay Bottom Crawl, or play on your own in Key West. Sunday nite we will INVADE Duvall Street with the snakes for just a little fun. Monday Oct 13th is Columbus Day (a holiday) so we will cruise back north with all kind of fun stops along the way.

Say Hersh,
Now you really have to extend your Key West trip at least one more day to hook up with us.

The 11th is on a Saturday and it takes 6 hours to drive down to Key West from my house. I would need to come in on the 10th, unless all I wanted to do on Saturday was have dinner at the Hotel. I need a better itenerary as to what you guys are doing on this weekend, day by day. Do you have to make reservations to have dinner on Saturday with the Bay Bottom Crawl group? So far I plan on coming, but need more info.
Dan

Hi Dan,
We're working on the itenerary, hope to have it done real soon!!
If you like to share any input on it please feel free to do so, you have my e-mail. In fact, I encourage all the help I can get. It's not going to be easy because our members are all over the place. Terry suggested having two legs, One for all you guys North and West of South Florida, and setting up a meeting point near Ft. Laud/Miami for the second part of the leg down to the Keys. We can start it Friday the 10th, all the guys that running in the BBC are going down the 10th, that might be even better, but I'm sure we'd have to start that late due to Friday being a work day for most of us. I'm self-employed and your retired, so we can pretty much get away anytime, I'm just concerned about the rest.
Dan, you can trailer over to Miami, stay with me or I can set up a local hotel with good rates($39 a night @ the Travel Inn) for Friday night. Leave the trailers either up with Terry Lee( for those from further North), or here in Miami and drive down the rest of the way ( the best part). We can start that part possibly early Saturday morning, with the Poker stops the rest of the way to Surger Loaf for those wanting to check out the BBC, and to the Holiday Inn in Key West for the rest.( only 17 miles from there)
As far as the Sat. night dinner, I'm not sure if we need reservation to join the BBC group. It will be held at the same hotel we are staying, so it shouldn't be to difficult either way. Hey Key West has some awsome places to eat, we can do our own dinner, and with all those Cobras and the way they draw attention, we'll be the guest of honor for sure. Let me know what you think!!!!

Doc, I just learned of this thread, sorry haven't chimed in earlier. Bay Bottom Crawl may not be the kind of thing you want to plan on spectating at! It's an awesome event to run, but not much can be seen from the pit area. May be worth looking at for future participation orientation tho...OR why don't some of you enter and run with us this year? This is racing the way the Conchs have done it for 40+ years. I have a little album about it at http://members3.clubphoto.com/john25...ner-8323.phtml if you'd like to see a little more about it.

Sugarloaf Lodge is convenient to the race location and is probably where I'll put in this year. Staying in Key West means more time driving back and forth, but the accomodations and eats are better there. Sugarloaf Lodge has a restaurant and pool and 50's era ambiance...and maybe this year the pool will have water, the restaurant will have wait staff and cooks, and the rooms will be better than last time I stayed there!

I'm planning to drive down starting early Friday a.m. Oct. 10, register that evening, practice on Saturday Oct. 11, go to the BBC banquet Saturday p.m., then race Sunday Oct. 12, and maybe stay all night before returning home Monday. Sorry can't participate in the Poker Run. Hope you guys have a blast. Let me know if I can be any help. I don't check in here very often; now that we're back on a dial up modem this site takes forever to load and navigate. See ya!

Alright Hersh!!!

We will definitely see you there, I hope you can hang and maybe even ride with us (co-pilot). My cell # 786-367-0297

From what I just learned, ala John, it seem your gonna have to hitch a ride with someone to really appreciate the BBC. Maybe we can talk John or Raul into giving us a ride durning their practise runs.

John, thanks for the info, I just started a new thread in the FFR Forum. Sorry I didn't think of it sooner! Well, we just came up with the date anyway, we weren't sure when and untill that happened I really didn't want to post anything anywhere else.

Again, thanks John for the info, and if you have a little free time, probably when your in Key West for the BBC banquet maybe we can do something as a group or at least get together. We are planning to be at the banquet too. John I gotta see your new ride, the last time I saw your Cobra it was in primer gray with flames, Raul tells me it came out beautiful but slow. Is that true?

Talking Me TOO

I'm back but want out of town NOW.
Came back to refg./ freezer broke and STINKY. Then I broke a crown on one of my back molars and needed to visit the dentist twice so far. Then the damn WORMS show up again on all the computers. Sent daughter off to college today for her junior year, she wants a new car; and --------------------------- the list goes on.
So that's why you haven't heard anything from me.

SO HERE GOES MY UPDATE.
(dates Revised 9-9-03)

FRIDAY OCT. 10th.
Welcome get together in So. Fla. at "The Lee's."
I have arranged for trailer parking for those that want to trailer down to the Palm Beach area and start from here to meet up with the south group Sat. morning.
We will have a group dinner at "The Grumpy Grouper" for a "fish-fry" (all you can eat grouper) or they have other items on the menu. Entertainment and dancing Friday night. I will try to arrange for up front parking for the Cobras at the restaurant and can arrange overnight covered parking for Friday night once I get a head count. I can also arrange hotel rooms nearby.
THE IDEA HERE IS TO ELIMINATE THE TRAFFIC HASSEL AND TRAILER PARKING IN MIAMI for the holiday weekend.

SATURDAY OCT 11th.
Early wake up and quick breakfast, and into the cars to head out for the deep south and the Miami Group. The first stop of the "Poker Run." My goal is to meet-up as a group at 9:00AM in the Miami area. From there we will head on down to Florida City to gas up, and then the "Keys Kruze" really begins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TOPS OFF, BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL, SHOULDERS BACK, PIPES BLASTING, AND A GRIN FROM EAR TO EAR. What could be better?
(Don't let your imagination run to wild here - remember these are low riding cars with the tops off - you perverts)

I think Doc has some plans from here on down, but I know we want to hit Sugar Loaf Key for the Bay Bottom Crawl in the afternoon before heading on into Key West. I know I'm going to want to hit the pool asap. Dinner on Duval Street (Sloppy Joe's)with the Cobras?
Doc, you can take it from here. We want to do some fun things on Sunday before we head back Monday (holiday).
It's all yours Doc ----------------

Exclamation Update Please

TO ALL WHO ARE PLANNING TO PARTICIPATE,

Please contact me via email (tml427@bellsouth.net) if you are planning to go on this run.
Also, plans on where you wish to start, Palm Beach or Miami?
Room reserved at Holiday Inn Beachside, our offical hangout?

I really need a head count to finalize plans.

As far as I know there are still rooms available at the Hotel. Doc and I would love to make this an annual event if we can get enough participation this year.

Thanks,

Terry Lee
