My ERA is on the way, so I just contacted my American Modern agent, who I use for my other old car. I want a policy to cover me while I'm building the car. He told me American Modern is no longer covering Cobra replicas because they've had a lot of claims. FYI.

They say they insure Cobra replicas right on their first page Collector car insurance from American Modern
Call them up and ask them: 866-884-6167 then post the answer back here.

I guess I could ask another agent that represents the same company, but rather than deal with that I'll probably shop my policy for both cars to their competitors. Very strange, as I have a sterling driving record and the only claim I've had with them over the past 19 years is for a piece of cracked glass. You'd think they would love to have a customer like me that just keeps cutting premium checks.

Ditto for Robin;
Call him direct for your Cobra. Robin knows cars and made life easy.
My regular auto and home agent didn't want my car.

American modern vs Robbin Terry
I had american modern on the car prior to completion. I finished the car, and recontacted to get full coverage. They said my Kirkham with a 427 was worth $60,000 max. I argued with them, sent them to the Kirkham site, etc. They would not budge. Their underwriter suggested an on site apprasial.. I paid $300 for a licenced appraiser, he took pics in person, found comp cars that sold, contacted the car owners and verified sale prices, etc. Sent the completed appraisal to american modern. The new joker on the phone said they do not use appraisals to set value on cars, so did the head underwriter. $300 pissed away.
I called Robbin, he said I didn't even need the appraisal. Valued the car at $110,000. Spent a few bucks more, got a heck of a lot more coverage. Switched the fleet of collector cars over to Robin, and saved a good bit with multi car. My cars are through Infinity now. Very pleased with service. Never had a claim yet, hope never to.
